Hey everyone! I've got some cool news for you: Touhou: Blossom Blade, a revamped version of the old 3D bullet hell action game Youyou Kengeki Musou, is coming to PC via Steam! For those who don't know, it was originally released back in 2011. It seems like Ankake Spa, the folks behind Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity and Touhou: New World, are giving their old title a fresh coat of paint!

In this game, you play as Konpaku Youmu. The gameplay is focused on using simple, yet satisfying controls in stage-based combat. You'll need to use your skills effectively to clear stages and beat bosses, using movement, area damage, and ranged attacks. So, it's all about using the right tool for the job, and timing is key!

From what I've seen, the story is pretty interesting. Youmu, who works for Saigyouji Yuyuko, is challenged to prove her skills by defeating Hakurei Reimu. The game features three skills, each with unique advantages. One cool thing is that chaining hits raises your combo counter, boosting your score and skill recharge rate! Difficulty options let you tailor the experience, and the music, with Touhou arrangements from Shoichiro Sakamoto, is set to make each stage even more immersive.

What’s new?

The Steam version brings some changes that are very welcome! Each skill now has its own button, which should make the combat feel more responsive. In addition, there are balance changes, more breakable objects, HUD additions, no more fall penalty (phew!), optimized graphics and Steam achievements. It seems like they've put a lot of work into modernizing the game, and I can't wait to check it out!
