Total War: Warhammer 3 - Tides of Torment DLC Release & 25th Anniversary
Hey folks! If you're like me and can't resist a good snake-themed character, Total War: Warhammer 3's upcoming Tides of Torment DLC might just be your cup of tea. It's bringing three new Legendary Lords to the table, representing the High Elves, Slaanesh, and Norsca. What's not to love about that?
Mark your calendars because December 4th is the day! That's when Creative Assembly and Sega plan to drop this serpentine surprise on us. But that's not all! They're also hosting a 25th-anniversary showcase on the same day, where they'll be "unveiling what's next for the franchise." I'm personally hoping for some exciting news about both fantasy and historical projects.
It's almost nostalgic remembering when I first got into the series. I remember being on the edge of my seat trying to defend Mikawa province against, like, three factions at once in the original Total War: Shogun! It feels like a lifetime ago.
However, let's be real here. I hope they've finally addressed the AI issues in Warhammer 3. I mean, what's the point of having awesome snake ladies if the AI is just going to derp out when it comes to recruiting troops? That's been a major pain point for many players, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a fix.
The Tides of Torment DLC will cost a bit of your hard-earned cash, but don't worry, there's some free stuff coming too! Patch 7.0 will include the Masque of Slaanesh Legendary Lord, bringing a brand-new campaign experience for the forces of Slaanesh. Plus, the High Elves, Slaanesh, and Norsca will get some love with new legacy updates, which should breathe some fresh air into past campaigns.
While I'm excited about the new content, I can't ignore the elephant in the room: the game's Steam user rating. It's currently sitting at "Mixed to Mostly Negative," with players voicing their frustrations about everything from DLC pricing to AI problems and communication from Creative Assembly. So, while we celebrate the good times, let's also hope they listen to the community and address these concerns.
