The Binding of Isaac creator's Mewgenics finally gets a release date, almost 13 years after it was announced
Guess what? Mewgenics, the crazy cat breeding RPG from Edmund McMillen of The Binding of Isaac fame, is finally coming out! Mark your calendars for February 10th, 2026, because that's when it hits PC. Can you believe it's been over 13 years since it was first announced? Time flies, doesn't it?
McMillen, who's one half of the Mewgenics dream team, dropped a massive 50-minute gameplay reveal on his YouTube channel. If you're curious about how this much-anticipated indie game actually plays, you gotta check it out. It's a deep dive into the world of Mewgenics.
The development of Mewgenics has been a real rollercoaster. After Super Meat Boy became a hit, McMillen teased Mewgenics way back in 2012, calling it his "strangest project" ever. However, that original version got canned, and McMillen shifted his focus to The Legend of Bumbo. Then, in 2018, he got the rights back from Team Meat and teamed up with Tyler Glaiel to resurrect Mewgenics. It's been a long and winding road!
It's awesome to see Mewgenics so close to the finish line. Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel have earned a lot of respect for their creativity and dedication. I'm excited for a future full of weird and wonderful cats in Mewgenics. What do you think?
