Remember all the buzz surrounding Starfield? It feels like ages ago, doesn't it? Bethesda's big sci-fi gamble came out in 2023, and honestly, the reaction was a bit all over the place. I mean, it wasn't a disaster, but it definitely didn't reach the heights everyone was expecting.

A lot of players have been pretty vocal about their disappointments, especially when it comes to the first expansion. It seems like many felt it didn't really add much to the core experience. And the talk about ongoing support? Well, let's just say it hasn't been as consistent or substantial as some had hoped. When I think about this, it make me think of the No Man's Sky situation. Everyone had huge expectations, then the launch wasn't great, and the developers had to work hard to turn it around. Perhaps Starfield will follow that road.

However, I do think it is too early to say if the game won't get back on track. A lot of great games had rocky starts, so who knows. Maybe Bethesda has some cool things planned that they haven't revealed yet!

So, What's Next?

It's important to keep in mind that game development is tough. Meeting player expectations, especially after so much anticipation, is a huge challenge. But as players, we can keep the feedback coming. Maybe if the developers take community requests into account, things will get better!
