Alright folks, guess what? Stardew Valley is getting another huge update! Yep, you heard it right. Even though Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, the mastermind behind the game, said he didn't want to ONLY be known for Stardew Valley, he's diving back in for update 1.7. And judging by the jump in numbers, this one's gonna be big!

If you remember, update 1.6 was a wild ride. We got 8-player co-op on PC, new crops, tons of fresh dialogue with the NPCs, a mastery system, and even new pets! Oh, and who could forget the best part? Giving those adorable pets hats, even if it caused some hilarious glitches.

The news dropped when Barone casually announced it at a concert. He later confirmed it on X, saying, "Okay, I revealed this at the concert last night and now the cat's out of the bag, so I will confirm for everyone: There will be a Stardew Valley 1.7 update. No release date, no estimate. But it's happening." So, while we don't know when it's coming, it's definitely on its way. I´m so hyped!

I know that Barone's also been working on Haunted Chocolatier, a more combat-focused RPG. However, Stardew Valley just keeps pulling him back. As he mentioned before, it's just easier to add stuff to a game when the core systems are already in place. He described the update process as a fun way to throw in random and whimsical ideas. Honestly, I can totally see that!

And let's be real, if I'd created one of the best-selling PC games ever, I wouldn't be in a rush to move on either. I'd be tinkering with it for years! Okay, maybe I'd take a few vacations in between. Who wouldn't? But still, constant updates would be on the to-do list!

It almost makes me think about George R. R. Martin and how he probably wishes he could just update the existing Game of Thrones books instead of writing The Winds of Winter. Don't get me wrong, I love A Song of Ice and Fire, but sometimes sticking with what you know and refining it can be super satisfying. Either way, I can´t wait for the new update! What about you?
