Hey everyone! It seems like Sonic and Shadow are speeding their way into Fortnite, but maybe not how you'd imagine. Instead of full-blown skins, it looks like we're getting character-themed sneakers!

A well-known Fortnite leaker, Wenso, dug into the game's data and found evidence of Kicks (that's Fortnite slang for sneakers) designed around our favorite speedy hedgehogs. I have to say, character-themed shoes are a pretty cool idea. They're like a subtle nod to your favorite characters.

These designs seem to match Puma's upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog collection, which drops on October 30th. So, maybe that's when we'll see them added to the game. Although, Wenso pointed out that there aren't any shop assets for them yet.

Fortnite already has Kicks from brands like Nike, Adidas, Vans, and Puma. I think it makes perfect sense to add some gaming-themed shoes to the mix.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "Will we get full Sonic and Shadow skins?" Honestly, it's probably not going to happen. Character proportions could be an issue, and Sonic's never been one to run around with a gun. Shadow, on the other hand, has a history, but I'm guessing Sega might follow Nintendo's lead and avoid having their characters blasting each other in Fortnite.

Still, I'm hoping we'll see more clothing items in addition to the Kicks. Maybe a Sonic-themed backpack or a Shadow-inspired hoodie? That would be awesome! The Fortnite crossover might also tie in with the release of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds later this month. It would make sense to promote the release!
