Silent Hill f Gets Easier: New Difficulty and Skip Options Arrive
So, Silent Hill f just got a new update, and it seems like the devs are listening to players! Basically, they've added a "casual" difficulty for those of us who'd rather focus on the story and atmosphere than intense combat. For me, it's a welcome addition; sometimes I just want to experience the narrative without getting bogged down in tough fights.
If you're diving into New Game Plus, there's now an option to skip certain sections, like the one after the mural puzzle. It looks like this skip is designed for players who want to quickly see all the endings without replaying those sections. However, remember that skipping content means missing out on some items and achievements. I'm planning on doing at least two runs, one to grab everything and one just for the story.
The patch also includes some general tweaks to make the game less combat-heavy. For example, Hinako now regenerates stamina faster, and she takes less damage on the hard difficulty. These changes should make the overall experience a bit more balanced, no matter your playstyle. I always appreciate when devs try to accommodate different player preferences.
There are bug fixes as well. One of the notes mentions "fixed bugs across multiple levels where clumps of flesh do not spawn". It appears that flesh clumps are now spawning correctly, whatever that means. Also, Shu shouldn't be cloning himself anymore, which I guess was a problem, and monsters should be less prone to randomly freezing in place.
