Silent Hill 1 Remake is happening, Bloober Team leading the project!
Big news for horror fans! Bloober Team, the folks behind the Silent Hill 2 Remake, have confirmed they're working on a remake of the original Silent Hill. If you're like me, you're probably excited and maybe a little nervous, considering how beloved that game is. However, after the fantastic work they did on Silent Hill 2 Remake, I think it's safe to say the game is in good hands!
During an investor call, Bloober Team casually dropped the news, mentioning that one of their two first-party teams is fully dedicated to bringing Silent Hill 1 back to life. While they didn't share any juicy details, I'm already picturing those terrifying moments in glorious, modern graphics.
More Horror on the Horizon
It's not just Silent Hill, though. Bloober Team has been cranking out some impressive original titles as well. Cronos: The New Dawn, their retro-futuristic psychological horror set in 80s Poland, seems to be doing well. I haven't played it myself yet, but I have only heard good things about it.
According to Bloober Team, they aren't actively working on a sequel or DLC for Cronos, but they aren't ruling it out completely. I hope they can find time to create new content for it.
What I found most interesting is that their second team is working on five smaller projects, including a game for Netflix, codenamed Project N. It looks like they're trying to release games more frequently, which is great news for us horror fans.
Bloober Team's goal is to become a leader in the horror genre, and honestly, they're well on their way. With the Silent Hill 1 Remake and all these other projects in the works, the future looks terrifyingly bright!
On a different note, the investor call also touched on Electronic Arts potentially going private. Bloober Team's CEO mentioned he's been predicting this kind of consolidation in the gaming market. It will be interesting to see if this has any effects on the gaming scene.
