Hey everyone! I've got some exciting news for those of you who loved Hyper Light Drifter. The studio behind that awesome game, Heart Machine, is dropping a new title next month called Possessor(s). It's a metroidvania, or as the devs are calling it, a "search action" game.

Devolver Digital just dropped a new gameplay trailer that gives us a good look at what to expect. Mark your calendars because it's hitting PS5 and PC on November 11th.

The game throws you into a cyberpunk city that's been quarantined. You play as Luca, a high school student who's made a deal with a demon. Sounds intriguing, right? I am pretty curious to find out what kind of deal was made.

Visuals and Combat

Just like Hyper Light Drifter, Possessor(s) looks stunning. It's got this clean, animated style as Luca explores a city controlled by a shady energy megacorp. The art style and color palette really pop, making it visually appealing.

Combat is where things get really interesting. It's inspired by Super Smash Bros., so you can juggle enemies with aerial attacks. Luca's got some crazy makeshift weapons, like a computer mouse, a guitar, and even a pair of sunglasses! It seems pretty chaotic, but really fun.

I'm really hoping it lives up to the hype of Hyper Light Drifter, but there's some tough competition in the metroidvania genre right now, especially with Hollow Knight: Silksong on the horizon.

I remember that Heart Machine released Hyper Light Breaker in early access back in January, but it didn't get the best reviews. However, they're still working on it, which shows they're committed to improving it.

I'm really stoked about Possessor(s). The visuals are great, the combat looks unique, and the cyberpunk setting has me hooked. Let's hope it delivers!
