So, I recently got a sneak peek at "Of Ash and Steel," and I gotta say, it's got potential. Look, it's not going to redefine the RPG genre or anything, but it seems like a solid, enjoyable experience for those of us who appreciate a more classic feel.

What I mean by "classic feel" is that it seems to be aimed squarely at fans of older-school RPGs. You know, the kind where you really have to think about your character build, manage your resources, and actually pay attention to the story. However, it also doesn't seem like it's going to be so obtuse or inaccessible that newer players can't get into it. It appears to straddle that line pretty well.

I think the key here is accessibility. Games can be too hardcore sometimes, and you end up spending more time frustrated than having fun. From what I've seen, "Of Ash and Steel" looks like it's trying to offer a challenge without being punishing. This is good. For example, if the gameplay offers multiple options to solve a certain challange, then it could make the player experience more enjoyable.
