New Dragon Ball Game Project to be Unveiled in January 2026
Alright Dragon Ball fans, listen up! Bandai Namco is gearing up to drop a brand-new Dragon Ball game project, and the hype is real. I'm talking about a full-blown announcement at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event, set to explode on January 25, 2026, in Chiba, Japan. Mark your calendars!
The big reveal is happening during the "Genkida Stage+: New Game Super Announcement Stage!" at 11:00 JST. I don't know about you, but I'm expecting something truly epic. Think about it: Bandai Namco knows how to get us hyped, and a new Dragon Ball game is always a cause for celebration. I'm personally hoping for something that goes beyond the usual fighting game formula. A Dragon Ball RPG with a massive open world would be insane, or maybe even a strategy game where you lead your team of Z Fighters against the Saiyans, Frieza's army, or even the Androids.
Of course, the announcement stage is only part of the fun. Genkidamatsuri is packed with other events, including appearances by the legendary Masako Nozawa (the voice of Goku himself!) and Akio Iyoku, who's basically the big boss executive producer. They'll be kicking things off with "New Developments Super Announcement! Genkida Stage Part 1" at 10:00 JST, then returning later in the day for Part 2 at 13:00 JST.
If you're a fan of the mobile games, there's a stage dedicated to Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle, Dragon Ball Legends, and Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra. Card game enthusiasts won't be left out either, with a stage for Dragon Ball Card Game: Fusion World and Dragon Ball: Super Divers. Plus, there's a "Weekly Dragon Ball News: Genkidamatsuri Edition" segment to keep you up-to-date on everything Dragon Ball.
To cap it all off, Hironobu Kageyama, the singer behind the iconic Dragon Ball Z theme song "Cha-La Head-Cha-La," will be performing live. That alone is worth the price of admission, in my opinion! Imagine singing along to your favorite anime song with thousands of other fans. Chills!
We don't have any concrete details about the new game just yet. But if I were to guess, I'd say it's going to be a big one. Bandai Namco wouldn't make this much of a fuss if it was just another mobile title, right? Whatever it is, I'm ready. I've been training for this moment my whole life. (Okay, maybe not, but you get the idea.)
