Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls PS5 Beta is almost here! Sign-ups are open now!
Hey everyone! If you're like me and have been itching for a new superhero fighting game, then I've got some awesome news! Arc System Works, the geniuses behind Guilty Gear, just dropped the dates for the closed beta of their upcoming tag team fighter, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls! And guess what? It's happening super soon!
I remember when they first announced this game back in June; the idea of 4v4 superhero battles immediately grabbed my attention. Imagine teaming up with your buddies to duke it out as reimagined versions of iconic heroes and villains. We're talking Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, Storm, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, and even Ghost Rider! Each character has their own unique set of attacks and powers pulled straight from the comics. Plus, there are varied stages and intuitive gameplay mechanics to look forward to.
And the best part? If you're a PlayStation 5 owner, you don't have to wait too long to get your hands on it! The closed beta is running from September 5th to 7th. That's right around the corner! Registration is already open, so head over and sign up for a chance to participate. I know I did!
What to Expect in the Beta
If you get selected for the beta, you'll have access to six playable fighters: Captain America, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Storm, and Doctor Doom. You'll also be able to battle it out across three different areas of Marvel's New York City. But that's not all! There's also a super cute chibi-inspired 64-player lobby, a Spectator Mode (perfect for watching your friends get wrecked!), and a tutorial mode to help you get the hang of things.
While there isn't a specific release date yet, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is expected to launch on PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store) sometime next year. It recently made an appearance at EVO 2025, and the initial buzz has been really positive. I'm personally super hyped to give this game a try, and I'll be sure to share my impressions once I do!
