Guess what? Bloober Team, the folks behind the Silent Hill 2 remake, are bringing their horror game, Layers of Fear, to Switch 2! It's called Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition, and it's hitting the eShop on December 19th. For those who don't know, Bloober Team has been doing a lot of horror games, so it's really cool to see them bringing Layers of Fear back.

If you haven't played it, Layers of Fear throws you into the twisted mind of a painter as you wander through his mansion. It's a mind-bending, hallucinatory experience. When I say mind-bending, I really mean it!

What's included in this edition?

Okay, so this isn't just a simple port. The Final Masterpiece Edition is actually a remake of the original Layers of Fear. It mashes up the first game, its sequel, and even adds some new story bits to tie everything together. You'll get to experience the first game with the painter, its Inheritance DLC, a new chapter about the painter's wife, the sequel set on an ocean liner, and a new framing story with a lighthouse keeper. Phew, that's a lot!

But that's not all! This edition also has enhanced graphics and new gameplay features, like a lantern to keep the creepy shadows away. If you're a fan of psychological horror and don't mind a bit of a scare, then this is definitely a game to check out. The game will also make use of Switch 2's features, like HDR, Ray Tracing, and dynamic lighting.

For me, I'm always up for a game that messes with my perception. Layers of Fear's shifting environments and surreal atmosphere make it a truly unique and unsettling experience. Although I do think that Bloober's newer games are more polished, Layers of Fear is still a great choice!

And the price? It'll be $39.99 on the Nintendo eShop. Besides Layers of Fear, Bloober Team also launched Cronos: The New Dawn on Switch 2. And if that wasn't enough, they're also working on a Switch 2 exclusive!
