Hey everyone! I just saw the new trailer for Kitsune: The Journey of Adashino, and I'm already hooked! The game, which is slated for release on Switch and PC (via Steam) in 2025, looks absolutely stunning. Developed by Rias and published by room6 and yokaze, this action-adventure game is steeped in Japanese folklore, and it really shows.

In this game, you play as Kitsune, a fox girl who, along with her frog pal, ends up on a mysterious island. What's cool is that the island's lit up with neon signs and lanterns, creating this awesome Japanese-inspired vibe. However, it’s not all chill because there's something spooky lurking in the shadows!

Gameplay Glimpse

From what I've gathered, the gameplay mixes exploration with some intense escape sequences. So, you'll be wandering around, chatting with the locals, and lighting up shrines to unlock new areas. But then, BAM! You'll have to outrun these Oni demons, using Kitsune's light powers to blind them temporarily. But here's the catch: she can't spam that light ability; she needs to recharge it at shrines. It seems like the light will have more functions, allowing her to discover hidden paths and dispel the darkness.

The story seems interesting, too, with the Tower of Muyo looming in the distance, tempting Kitsune with all the stolen lights. It’s all set during a long summer night, the night of the Jugoya harvest festival. Sounds like a captivating setting for a game!

I don’t know about you, but I am definitely looking forward to seeing more of Kitsune: The Journey of Adashino. The blend of exploration, action, and Japanese folklore has me totally sold!
