Hey everyone! I've got some interesting news about a new game that's caught my attention: Hono Gurashi no Niwa. Nippon Ichi Software just dropped a new trailer and some juicy details, and it looks like it will be released to PS5, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and PC in 2026. The game is set in Kagatsu Village, a secluded little place where things aren't quite as they seem. You play as a young person who ends up living there and starts a new life. Sounds peaceful, right? Think again! While you're gardening and fishing, you start noticing strange things happening.
What's the Deal with Kagatsu Village?
While the villagers seem friendly, they're also pretty secretive. They'll say things that make you go "huh?", and you'll feel like you're always being kept in the dark. It's like everyone knows something you don't, which can be a bit unsettling. It reminds me of those old movies where a newcomer arrives in a town with secrets. Adding to the mystery, there are these things called "The Eight Rules of Kagatsu Village." I don't know about you, but rules in games always make me want to break them! These rules are supposedly in place to protect the village. For example, you're told not to approach strangers or look for lost items. Of course, that makes you want to do exactly the opposite, doesn't it? Some villagers even wander around at night, breaking the rules. What's up with that?Late Night Adventures (If You Dare)
If you're brave enough to sneak around at night, you might just uncover some of the village's hidden secrets. But be warned: Kagatsu Village at night is totally different from the daytime. You might feel like you're being watched, and you'll definitely encounter some strange things. Imagine exploring a dark village with just a flashlight, unsure of what's lurking around the corner. It sounds a bit creepy, but also super exciting! Apparently, you'll even run into beings that don't seem to belong in the normal world. Are they dangerous? Are they friendly? You'll have to find out for yourself. It's this kind of mystery that really draws me into a game. Not a Fan of Scares? No Problem!
If you're not into scary stuff, the game has a "Safe Living Mode." This lets you enjoy the farming and village life without all the spooky encounters. That way, you can still experience the game without having nightmares! Honestly, Hono Gurashi no Niwa sounds like a really interesting mix of genres. It's got the relaxing elements of a farming simulator combined with a mysterious, unsettling story. I know I'll be keeping an eye on this one!1 Video of Hono Gurashi no Niwa:
