Even though GTA 6 is coming to consoles first, the head honcho at Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, believes that PC gaming is the future. In a recent interview, Zelnick pointed out that the industry seems to be heading towards PC, favoring open platforms over closed ones.

He was talking about how games that you can really get into, the kind you play for hours on a big screen, are here to stay. This comes at a time when Valve is also pushing the boundaries with devices like the Steam Machine, a hybrid console/PC that lets you play PC games on your TV.

Interestingly, Zelnick also highlighted the mobile gaming market. According to him, mobile games are booming because they're convenient, accessible, and fun for a wide range of people. Take-Two is even expecting their mobile business to jump by about 10 percent soon.

More and more publishers are releasing games on PC as well as consoles, and PlayStation has been bringing its once-exclusive titles to PC via Steam. A former PlayStation executive said that porting PlayStation-exclusive games to PC is like printing money.

Even though there's no official word on when GTA 6 might land on PC, Zelnick hinted earlier this year that it's likely to happen eventually. However, he also mentioned that Take-Two usually doesn't release games on all platforms at the same time. He noted that the PC version of a game can generate 40 percent of overall sales.
