Game Science reveals Black Myth: Zhong Kui, a new action RPG with ghost hunting god
Guess what? The folks over at Game Science, who brought us Black Myth: Wukong, just dropped a teaser for their new project: Black Myth: Zhong Kui! It looks like we're diving back into the world of Chinese mythology, but this time, we're playing as Zhong Kui, a ghost-hunting god who roams between hell and Earth.
The reveal came in the form of a cool CG short during Gamescom's Open Night Live 2025. I gotta say, Zhong Kui looks pretty badass riding that giant tiger! The developers mentioned that they want to create a familiar but surprising experience for players. They want folks who played Wukong to feel right at home, while also throwing some curveballs their way.
However, they're being upfront about the fact that the game is still early in development. In their own words, it's "little more than an empty folder" right now. So, no release date yet, and the trailer doesn't really show us how Zhong Kui will fight. But hey, that tiger HAS to be more than just a ride, right? I'm betting it'll be a trusty companion in battle.
It's good to see Game Science trying new things.
I remember when Black Myth: Wukong first came out, it was a breath of fresh air. Hopefully, Zhong Kui can capture that same magic.
