Everyday Sororicide is a game about women dueling to the death where you can only play once a day

Ever feel like most games let you do too much? So many choices, so many hours to sink in. But what if a game limited you to just one round per day? Everyday Sororicide does exactly that. It's a short, intense experience from the Yuri Game Jam that throws you into a deadly duel. In this game, you play as one of two "girl-esque things," each armed with a sword, ready to fight to the death. The creators, Blood Machine and Snek Remilia Ketter, describe it as "a tragic attempt at conveying the feeling of interacting with another girl on any level beyond superficiality." Harsh, right? The gameplay is simple but strategic. You've got a few moves—stab, feint, dodge, jump, slam—and you have to carefully watch your opponent for an opening. They're not going down without a fight! All while intense drone music amps up the pressure. It's like a super-focused version of those fighting games where you and a friend mash buttons until someone wins.
One Round and Done?
What I find most intriguing is the one-play-per-day limit in the solo mode. It's almost defiant! You can't binge it, you can't unlock everything in one sitting. It forces you to sit with the mystery, to wonder why these characters are so desperate to fight. It's like the game is daring you to figure it out, but only on its terms. However, if you just can't wait, there's also a multiplayer mode. You can battle a friend or, as the original article cheekily suggests, someone you have a "toxic situationship" with. Sounds like the perfect way to settle those arguments, right? I'm kidding... mostly. If you're curious and want to try it for yourself, you can grab Everyday Sororicide for free on itch.io. Be warned: it's a bit dark and intense, but it's also a unique and thought-provoking experience.1 Image of Everyday Sororicide:
