EA Reveals Star Wars: Zero Company, a Tactical Turn-Based Adventure
After some whispers, it's official! EA has unveiled its latest venture into the galaxy far, far away: Star Wars: Zero Company. This new title is being crafted by the talented folks at Bit Reactor, with support from Lucasfilm Games and Respawn. Get ready for a fresh take on the Star Wars universe!
So, what exactly is Star Wars: Zero Company? From what we know so far, it's shaping up to be a "single-player turn-based tactics game." Think strategic combat and thoughtful decision-making in a familiar setting. If you're a fan of games that challenge your mind as well as your reflexes, this might be one to watch.
First Look Coming Soon!
The wait for more details won't be long! EA is planning to give us our first glimpse of Zero Company on April 19th at Star Wars Celebration in Japan. Mark your calendars, Star Wars fans!
Bit Reactor, the lead developer, is a relatively new studio but don't let that fool you. It's packed with industry veterans who have worked on some seriously impressive games, including the likes of XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and Elder Scrolls Online. These are people who know their stuff when it comes to strategy games.
While the studio was founded in 2022, we knew for a while that they were working on a Star Wars game with Respawn. Now, we're finally getting some concrete information about what that project entails.
Respawn's role is a bit less clear, especially considering some recent challenges the studio has faced. This includes the cancellation of their own Star Wars FPS and a multiplayer FPS incubation project. Hopefully, their involvement in Zero Company will be a chance for them to flex their creative muscles in a new and exciting way.
For those eager to learn more, a live panel will be held on Saturday, April 19th, at 4:30 pm local time in Japan. Unfortunately, that translates to 12:30 am PT and 3:30 am ET for those of us in the U.S. Time to decide how badly you need to know!
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the Star Wars Celebration reveal. Star Wars: Zero Company sounds like it could be a really interesting addition to the Star Wars gaming universe!
