Hey everyone! Guess what? Castle Crashers is getting its first DLC in ages! Can you believe it's been 13 years? The Behemoth just dropped the news that "Painter Boss Paradise" is coming to PC via Steam on August 6, and it's bringing a feature fans have been clamoring for: custom character creation!

For just $3.99, you'll be able to dive into a bunch of new stuff, including, but not limited to, fresh art for characters, weapons, and even the map! But the real kicker is the ability to create your own characters. How cool is that?

The Behemoth's co-founder, Dan Paladin, mentioned how awesome it is that you can already make your own weapon art in Castle Crashers. So, they figured, why not let you create your own characters too? I think that's a great idea.

They've even released a how-to video and a template to get you started on designing your characters. Basically, you fill in the template with your design, save it, and boom! Your character's in-game design updates automatically. It even allows for multi-angle customization. It's really amazing how you can create your custom weapons, borrowing stats from any weapon in the game!

And that's not all! You can also share your creations with the world through the Steam Workshop, or directly with your friends who are playing the DLC, even if they don't own it themselves. That's some serious sharing right there.

Key features to be excited about

  • Create your own custom characters and share them with the world!
  • New official character: Paint Junior! Unleash your imagination and powerful art!
  • New art for all official playable characters and weapons!
  • New main menu art and map art!
  • Tons of community characters and official characters to choose from!
  • You can toggle the DLC on or off if you're feeling nostalgic for the original game.

Castle Crashers is already available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam, so if you haven't jumped in yet, now might be the perfect time, especially with this awesome DLC on the horizon. I am really looking forward to see what kind of crazy characters people come up with!
