Capcom Warns Against Cheating in Monster Hunter Wilds
Capcom is cracking down on cheaters in Monster Hunter Wilds, warning that using unauthorized mods can lead to an "unplayable" game experience. The company has identified modified game data in High Rank investigations and field surveys, urging players to stop immediately if they suspect any quest modifications after applying patch 1.010.
Identifying Modified Quests
Modified data can disrupt normal gameplay, potentially making the game unplayable. Capcom advises players to avoid or immediately quit any quest suspected of being altered. Indicators of modification include missing monsters, excessive item limits per slot, or quests offering an unusually high number of reward slots for a single monster target.
Future Countermeasures
While Capcom admits it cannot currently identify every modified quest, the company plans to introduce additional countermeasures in future updates. These measures will focus on detecting users engaging in unauthorized data modification, aiming to protect other players from being affected by such actions. If you suspect a quest has been modified, Capcom recommends leaving it immediately and quitting the game without saving to prevent any negative consequences.
Fair Play and Consequences
This warning follows the release of Title Update 1 in April, which introduced new quests centered around competitive hunt times. Even then, Capcom cautioned against cheating, stating that accounts involved in fraudulent ranking activities, such as using cheats or external tools, would face suspension and have their completion times invalidated. Capcom is committed to maintaining a fun and fair environment for all players and will take action against those who violate the game's terms of service.
