So, get this – usually, when a new Call of Duty drops, the first thing I do (after gawking at the graphics, of course) is pick my difficulty level. Are we feeling like a casual run-and-gun experience? Or are we going full-on, sweat-inducing veteran mode? But this time, with Black Ops 7, things are different. You won't get to choose!

Treyarch, the masterminds behind Black Ops 7, decided to shake things up. Instead of giving us the usual "Recruit, Normal, Hardened, Veteran" options, they're going with something different. While they haven't detailed yet how difficulty will be handled, the traditional options are gone.

While it might sound strange at first, I'm actually kind of intrigued. Maybe they're trying to create a more balanced and consistent experience for everyone. Perhaps the game will dynamically adjust based on your performance, offering a challenge that's tailored just for you. We will have to wait and see if this new model will work and what exactly changed to reach this conclusion.

It´s a bit unsettling at first since a staple for the franchise is being removed, but maybe it will work out for the best, creating a more engaging and less frustrating experience. After all, how many times have you started a COD campaign on Veteran, only to dial it back to Normal after getting stuck on the same level for hours? I know I have!

Whatever the reason, it's clear that Treyarch is aiming for something different with Black Ops 7. I'm curious to see how this new approach to difficulty plays out. It might just be a stroke of genius, or it might be something we all wish they hadn't messed with. Only time will tell!
