Brave x Junction: Blackjack RPG Launches on October for Consoles and PC
Hey everyone! I've got some interesting news for you today. RideonJapan just announced that their Blackjack RPG, Brave x Junction, is hitting PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on October 8th, with a Switch and PC (via Steam) release on October 9th. The game will be priced at 1,650 yen, but we are still waiting for the western pricing.
So, what exactly is Brave x Junction? Well, imagine an RPG where battles are fought using Blackjack. It sounds pretty wild, right? You face off against monsters in a turn-based system where the goal is to get as close to 21 as possible. Whoever gets the closest gets to deal damage. It's a simple concept, but it seems like it could offer a unique twist on classic RPG combat.
Gameplay and Characters
The game features three playable characters, each with their own unique style. There's the Fighter, who's all about head-on attacks; the Thief, who's great at sensing and avoiding danger; and the Magician, who uses tricks and illusions to get ahead. I like that you can choose to rely on luck or use strategy to outsmart your opponents.
I always appreciate when games have a wide variety of enemies, and Brave x Junction seems to deliver on that front. You'll encounter everything from slimes and orcs to dragons and other strange creatures. The game also features monsters from RideonJapan's other titles, like Adventure Bar Story and Mercenaries Saga, which is a nice touch for fans of those series. They have different skills and abilities that should keep you on your toes.
As you play, you'll get boost cards that can strengthen your character and teach them new skills. Weapons and accessories also have abilities, and you can even combine them at the Armory & Forge in town to create powerful combinations. I think this level of customization could add a lot of depth to the game, allowing you to experiment with different builds and strategies.
Ultimately, whether you can conquer the dungeons in Brave x Junction is up to you. It appears to be a charming game that blends RPG elements with the strategic gameplay of Blackjack. I'm definitely curious to see how it all comes together. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below!
