Black Ops 7: Carry Forward Returns and Campaign Progression Arrives!
Hey everyone! So, the hype train for Black Ops 7 has officially left the station, and it's bringing some seriously cool features with it. Last night's reveal was just the tip of the iceberg, and I'm here to break down what I think are the most exciting additions.
First up, Carry Forward is back! Remember how you could bring some of your stuff from Modern Warfare 2 into Modern Warfare 3? Well, Black Ops 7 is doing the same thing with Black Ops 6 content. This means your hard-earned weapons, operators, XP tokens, and even those sweet cosmetic items will be usable in Black Ops 7's multiplayer and Warzone. It's like getting a head start, which is always a good thing! This kicks off with Season One, a few weeks after the game launches. Keep in mind that some items, like skins for equipment that doesn't exist in the new game, won't transfer. Also, weapon camos will only work on BO6 weapons.
But wait, there's more! The Black Ops 7 campaign, which you can play with up to four friends in co-op, is also getting some love. They're introducing something called Global Progression. Honestly, I'm surprised it took them this long to do this! We've had cross-progression between multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone for ages, but the campaign was always left out in the cold.
Now, in Black Ops 7, you'll earn XP while playing the campaign. This means you can level up your weapons, unlock camos, and complete challenges that carry over to multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. Imagine unlocking that awesome sniper scope while playing through the story and then using it to dominate in multiplayer! Treyarch mentioned weapon Prestige, standard weapon progression, camos, Calling Cards, and daily challenges as part of this system.
Share the Love: Gunsmith Builds
Another cool feature is the ability to share your Gunsmith weapon builds. You can save your custom creations and send them directly to your friends, or even generate a code so anyone can use them. No more painstakingly replicating your favorite loadout piece by piece!
Want to know more about the multiplayer side of things? Mark your calendars for September 30 at Call of Duty: Next. The beta will follow shortly after, running from October 2-8. And the full game drops on November 14 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. I, for one, can't wait! What about you?
