With the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 release date just around the corner on November 14th, and the early access beta almost here, Activision held a Call of Duty Next showcase, packed with multiplayer news, gameplay, and a look at Warzone's new Resurgence map!

Beta Details

The open beta kicks off October 5th-8th, but if you're eager, early access starts on October 2nd. You'll get to jump into six 6v6 maps: Blackheart, The Forge, Toshin's downtown Tokyo, Exposure, Imprint, and Cortex. If you're a Zombies fan, you can check out the Vandorn Farm survival map.

Regarding maps, the showcase featured 18 launch maps for Black Ops 7. There's Colossus, a Black Ops 2 throwback, and Den, set in a Japanese castle. There's also Express, in a Tokyo train station; Hijacked, on a Tokyo Bay yacht; Homestead, around David Mason's childhood home; and Paranoia, a fantastical map inspired by David Mason's mind. Seven more multiplayer maps are planned for Season 1, plus Survival maps and a round-based map for Zombies mode.

Black Ops 7 is launching with 16 new multiplayer weapons, including the M10 Breacher shotgun, which can be charged to reduce spread. More weapons are coming in post-launch seasons, along with attachment rewards and weekly challenges. I'm personally excited about the new Weapon Prestige attachments and camos.

Activision showed off Black Ops 7's new Overload mode, a 6v6 objective mode where teams grab an overload device and take it to the opposition's zone.

Zombies Mode

Zombies mode is also getting a lot of love! They gave us a sneak peek at the round-based Ashes of the Damned map, inspired by the Bermuda Triangle. It features landmarks like a ruined Janus Towers Plaza and Black Water Cabin. You'll face waves of undead, including Ravagers. There's also Tessie, a vehicle you can upgrade.

Warzone Updates

Warzone's getting a new Resurgence map called Haven's Hollow, a small Appalachian town. It's a pre-outbreak version of Liberty Falls, with points of interest like the train station, mansion, and lumber mill. Haven's Hollow is coming with Season 1 later this year.
