BioWare Hires for Senior Role, Suggesting Mass Effect 5 is Still in Active Development
It seems like the Mass Effect universe isn't quite ready to be consigned to the history books just yet! Despite some recent turbulence at BioWare, where they faced layoffs after Dragon Age: The Veilguard, there's a glimmer of hope for fans eager to see the next chapter in the saga. They are starting to look for new talents.
While it's easy to get caught up in worrying about studio changes, or ponder about what those changes mean for the project, this new job posting is definitely a positive sign. It tells me that BioWare is still committed to expanding the Mass Effect world, even if things behind the scenes have been a bit rocky lately. I imagine the pressure is high to deliver something special, and I'm genuinely curious to see what they come up with.
Let's be honest, the Mass Effect universe has that special something, hasn't it? The characters, the storylines, the epic scope...it's a universe where you can really lose yourself. And, although Mass Effect: Andromeda wasn't a hit with many fans, I truly believe the core concept is great.
So, while we might not be suiting up as Commander Shepard anytime soon (or maybe we will, who knows!), the fact that BioWare is actively seeking talent for Mass Effect 5 suggests that the journey is far from over.
