Hey everyone! So, the Battlefield 6 multiplayer reveal finally dropped, and while some of it leaked beforehand, it's still awesome to get the official deets. The biggest news? The release date, of course! Plus, we got some solid info about the upcoming beta, which is what I'm personally most excited about. Can't wait to jump in and see what it's all about!

Mark your calendars! Battlefield 6 is hitting PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 10th. It's kinda cool that they're focusing on the current-gen consoles, showing they're really pushing the limits. However, EA hasn't spilled the beans on the price just yet. I'm hoping it won't break the bank!

Beta Time!

The open beta is just around the corner, and it's happening over two weekends. If you're eager to get in early, there's an early access period from August 7-8. The first weekend is August 9-10, and the second is August 14-17. This is our chance to get our hands dirty and provide feedback, so let's make the most of it!

During the multiplayer gameplay event, the Battlefield Studios crew gave us a peek at the game's core features. We saw a few of the maps launching with the game, including Siege of Cairo and Empire State. There will be nine maps at launch, and Operation Firestorm is making a comeback! Also, Portal mode from Battlefield 2042 is returning.

With Battlefield 6's release date locked in, and with rumors about the new Call of Duty in November, it seems like EA's shooter gets to take the first shot. I think Battlefield has the hype advantage right now, but who knows what will happen when Call of Duty reveals their multiplayer at gamescom in August! Their beta probably won't be until October.

It's interesting to see how EA is trying to mirror the Call of Duty model. They are planning a free-to-play mode alongside the main game, hoping players will spend money on in-game goodies. I'm not sure how I feel about this, but if the game is good, I might be tempted.

While we are all waiting for the beta, DICE has already been running some tests through the Battlefield Labs program. So far, feedback has been really positive, which is great news. Here's hoping that positive energy carries over into the beta and beyond!
