Simulation
So, here's the scoop: Kunos Simulazioni, the masterminds behind Assetto Corsa, are diving into the world of rally racing with their new game, Assetto Corsa Rally. And yes, I agree, the name is pretty straightforward! Just like its sibling, Assetto Corsa EVO, this rally sim is hitting Steam Early Access. Mark your calendars for November 13th! According to Supernova studio director Mauro Notarberardino, they felt a void in the market for a modern rally simulator. This makes me think about how EA kinda pumped the brakes on their rally game development. While there are some cool rally games, few can give you that super realistic feel that a top-notch sim can. What can you expect from Assetto Corsa Rally? Well, Kunos and Supernova are promising some seriously realistic stages, recreated using laser-scanning tech. Plus, they're using Assetto Corsa's physics engine to make everything feel real, from the road surfaces to the weather. And when it comes to cars, we're talking everything from the classics of the '60s and '70s to today's rally monsters. At the Early Access launch, you'll get to play with ten cars, including legends like the Lancia Stratos and the Hyundai i20N Rally2. Looking at the screenshots, I also spotted a Group B Lancia 037, a Citroen Xsara driven by Seb Loeb in the early 2000s, and a Delta from the '90s. As for locations, get ready to tear up some Welsh gravel and French tarmac. The full release is expected in "less than 18 months". By then, the plan is to have five rallies and over 30 cars ready to go. Plus, they're thinking about adding a driving school and a career mode. It's an ambitious plan. If you're excited, you can add Assetto Corsa Rally to your wishlist on Steam. I know I did!
