Wow, after what felt like forever, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is getting a massive revival! I'm super stoked about this. Nintendo just dropped a bombshell: early next year, we're getting a Switch 2 Edition, a huge free update for everyone, and a Lego collab! Can you believe it? It's like all our wishes came true at once.

What's New in the Switch 2 Edition?

So, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is specifically designed to take advantage of the new console's capabilities. Think 4K resolution, making everything look crisp and vibrant. And get this – optional Joy-Con mouse controls for decorating your house or creating custom designs. It's gonna be so much easier to get those details just right! Plus, you'll be able to call out to villagers using the console's mic. Online sessions are also getting a boost, with support for up to 12 players.

The upgrade will cost around $5, but the full game will be around $65! I think the upgrade is a great value, but It's still going to be a great deal for anyone who wants to jump back into the game.

Free Update Goodies!

But wait, there's more! The free update launching on January 15th is HUGE. We're talking about a new Resort Hotel run by Kapp'n's family. It seems like a more detailed version of the campsite, bringing even more villagers to your island. You'll be helping out decorating the rooms, and there's a souvenir shop with exclusive furniture and clothing. I can already imagine the creative possibilities!

They're also upping the home storage to a whopping 9,000 items, including trees and flowers and Resetti will be providing a service for you to quickstart.

Classic Nintendo Games and LEGO!

Here's where things get extra exciting. If you're a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber, you can design and store up to three Slumber Islands and access your current inventory to invite home island villagers. You'll also be able to play classic Nintendo games – a feature that's been missing for way too long! Imagine playing old-school titles within Animal Crossing. It's like a dream come true.

If you own Legend of Zelda or Splatoon amiibo, get ready to use it to invite special characters into your island and unlock special items! And let's not forget the LEGO collab! I'm really curious to see how they'll incorporate those iconic bricks into the game. January 15th can't come soon enough!
